Pac-10: Quincy Pondexter, Washington
"Pondexter earned co-MVP honors at the Athletes in Action Classic in Seattle after averaging 22.0 ppg and 11.0 rpg and leading the Huskies to a perfect 3-0 record. In addition, the Fresno, Calif., native shot 63.9 (23-of-36) percent from the field and .952 from the free throw line, including hitting 20-straight from the charity line."

Big West: Larry Anderson, Long Beach St. AND Joe Harden, UC Davis
"Anderson, a 6-5 guard, scored a game-high 18 points to lead the 49ers to an 86-65 season-opening win against Alaska Anchorage on Saturday.  He added career-highs of seven assists and five steals as Long Beach State won a season opener for the first time in eight years.

"Harden averaged 17.3 points, 9.0 rebounds and 2.0 steals per game to help the Aggies to a 1-2 record at the Basketball Travelers Tip-Off in Eugene, Ore. He posted two double-doubles during the tournament, including a career-high 26 points to go along with 12 rebounds in a 99-79 triumph over Winston-Salem State."

Mountain West: Jimmer Fredette, BYU
"A 6-2 guard from Glen Falls, N.Y., Fredette led the Cougars to a season-opening win over Bradley (70-60) last Friday. He scored a game-high 25 points on 6-of-14 shooting, while also recording five rebounds and four assists in 37 minutes. Fredette scored 16 of his 25 points in the second half, while also dishing out three assists. He also went 12-of-14 from the charity stripe in the second half, including hitting all six of his attempts in the final five minutes of the contest."

WAC: Roderick Flemings, Hawai'i
"Flemings, a senior from Dallas, Texas (Weatherford College), helped the Rainbow Warriors to a 2-0 record last week with wins over Southern Utah and McNeese State. Flemings tallied 23 points and 12 rebounds in UH's 65-48 season-opening win over Southern Utah. He recorded his second straight double-double with 14 points and 10 rebounds in a 73-65 victory over McNeese State."
