Hoop Night 11/23/2009

We looked at the early games in the post above, here's the evening lineup.

Wichita State vs. Pittsburgh, 7:30pm ET, ESPN2 (CBE Classic)

Toure Murry and J.T. Durley (both around 15 ppg) lead the Shockers, who hope to live up to their team nickname and surprise a rebuilding Pitt team that made the Elite Eight last season. Without Sam Young, Levance Fields, or DeJuan Blair, Pitt is getting most of its scoring from the outside. Still, if I saw Gary McGhee coming at me, I'd get the hell out of the way, personally.

Maryland vs. Chaminade, 9:30pm ET, ESPNU (Maui Invitational)

The only thing that needs be said here is, don't get Chaminaded.

Texas vs. Iowa, 10pm ET, ESPN2 (CBE Classic)

Iowa is 1-2, having lost to Texas-San Antonio and Duquesne. These are not the worst teams in DI by any stretch of the imagination. Nor are they among the best. Texas is. Damion James (19 points, 11 rebounds per) and Big Dex Pittman (15/7) are too much of a load inside for the sagging Hawkeyes.
