Jayhawk Tip-Off Has Arrived

Ladies and gentlemen: Storming the Floor would like to announce the completion of Stage One of our intricate plan for global hoops domination.

We give you... Jayhawk Tip-off.

I (Eric) edited this sucker. For me, this was obviously a dream gig and a labor of love (OK, I got paid, or supposedly will get paid. Love don't pay the bills, man). But it's also Rock-chalk-full of articles from names you've come to know through reading this blog.

  • Our founder, Marco, wrote a massive piece detailing KU's non-conference opponents.
  • East Coast Editor Jacob Osterhout broke down the Keys to Making the Final Four, as well as analyzing how KU stacks up against other national powerhouses.
  • Our favorite Coach, Bruno Chu, breaks down KU's signature offensive plays with his usual flair, and copious charts.
  • Several features from the editors of sites in our linkroll: Rock Chalk Talk, Yet Another Basketball Blog, Beyond the Arc, and CollegeDome.
  • A generous "equal-time" allotment in which I allowed Michael Atchison, author of the Mizzou book True Sons, to fan the flames of our century-old rivalry.
  • Hilarious pieces about "How to Heckle the Big 12" and "Naismith's Forgotten Rules" from my ESPN.com crony Rick Paulas.
  • Copious stats culled from Basketball State (sign up, tell them bigant sent you).
  • A quote from STF super-commenter Stormy. I probably owe him a Bodo's Bagel for that.
  • Nostradamus-like quatrains foretelling the 2011 Final Four, penned by STF Director of Research Guillermo.

The bookazine is currently available for pre-order on the Maple Street website for $12.99. It's solid info, no advertisements, which already makes it somewhat better than our sidebar.

Obviously, we'd love it if you'd buy a copy, tell everyone you know to buy a copy, and then purchase and donate copies to your local doctor's office and barbershop. They make great Christmas gifts, Halloween costumes, and coasters.

Consume Mass Quantities, Earthlings!

If you're not a member of Basketball State, you're missing out. We can rectify that problem you're having. Just head over to BB State and join up, using the special code for STF readers: bigant. It's good for two bucks off the cover price, and in this economy, you're going to need it. It's good all season long, so you have no excuse. Don't make us sic Guillermo on you.
